Mmm... The Nicotini

nico2.jpeg

Chattanooga has yet to join the ranks of cities that have banned smoking in restaurants and bars (Southerners don't go down without a fight), but when it does, we have a last resort... the nicotini. It was invented on Miami's Los Olas Boulevard, where restaurant smoking is newly forbidden, and it is quite the concoction, designed to give the buzz and taste of a Camel. "Soak tobacco leaves in vodka overnight, deaden the juice's harshness by adding a couple other liquors, and voilą, the nicotini." This had better be a very last resort.

That has got to be one of the coolest photos I've seen in a long time.

I don't care if the South rises again, or even get's off the porch, but damnit, they'd better NEVER ban smoking in bars, I mean, what the heck is the point?!?

I'll be dead from lung cancer before I let some snot nosed hypie tell me i can't smoke in a bar. Lousy North always oppressing us, first the War of Northern Aggresion, then El Nino, now this... dirty no good rotten... and i bet the people behind this no smoking in bars are the same ones responsible for canceling Momma's Family!

A bar without cigarettes is sick and wrong...but so is "nicotini"...I mean, who smokes because they think cigarettes taste really good? I can't imagine anyone needing a smoke that bad. That's what nicotine gum is for.

I think the ban on indoor smoking in Florida (and wherever else it may be banned) is a very good thing. I mean, sure...people have a "right" to smoke, but what about others? Don't we have a right to breathe in clean air? I also think that the nicotini is a very disgusting new development. Who knows how bad it is for you? People who have been manipulated by the tobacco industry will do anything for that kick of nicotine, no matter how disgusting it is.

I am the inventor of the Nicotini on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. I have NEVER smoked and believe that if someone is offended by smoke, don't go to that restaurant. However, since we are living in a society that doesn't take responsibility for our own actions, it is easier to pass a law to make others change. What happened to individual freedom?

Larry,

Wonderful to see you wandering onto this site. If you don't mind my asking, how did you dream this drink up? And have you come up with any other concoctions?
