Since they seem to me to have no way yet for me to be their first commenter, I'll do it here:

I vote for: "bourgeoisie" (even though the definition does not fit, in my opinion):

The term was extended to include the middle class of France and subsequently of other nations. The word bourgeois has also long been used to imply an outlook associated with materialism, narrowness, and lack of culture—these characteristics were early satirized by Molière and have continued to be a subject of literary analysis.

Materialism? Lack of culture?!?! I don't THINK so.

I know, right? When I was a kid, I used to get scared when I read about the French Revolution (I read WAAAYY too much stuff I probably should not have as a 7 year old) and how the Bourgeoisie were the ones being beheaded...I thought that meant I would be too one day. I remember my mama laughing when I told her I was afraid of it!! TRAUMA!

Oh yeah, and I still need comment posting stuff on the blog. Don't you love Adrienne's keen designing gift. She's a super homemaker even in Cyberspace!
