Comparing Unemployment in Hamilton County versus State and Neighboring County Rates
Google recently launched a structured data search feature that allows you to browse & compare public data. One of the available data sets is unemployment rates broken down by state and county.
The current unemployment rate in Hamilton County is 8%, lower than surrounding counties and the state average. It's interesting to see that overall unemployment is now (adjusted) roughly equivalent to that of the '92 recession.
Now if only our Hamilton County Election Commission could enter the 1990's and start posting election data is some format other than .pdf's. Openness and Accessibility, ftw.
