Breaking Bad Renewed for a 2nd Season

"Walter White" Breaks Bad

One of the great surprises of the last television season was stumbling across the AMC show Breaking Bad, which centers around an Albuquerque, NM high-school chemistry teacher diagnosed with terminal cancer and who decides to start cooking meth to provide some kind of "long-term" financial security for his family.

Brilliant, dark, painful, hilarious, and very well acted by Bryan Cranston. Like Slate says, sometimes you wonder where the joke is, but by that point you're so emotionally loyal to the central character you just don't care.

Due to the writers strike they were only able to do seven episodes in Season 1, but thankfully they've been renewed for a second season.
