Dr. Antonio Chiareli, professor of sociology at Covenant College, has authored a futuristic novel titled The Dreamers of Allianz, published recently by Xulon Press.

A gripping novel about the global underground church decades in the future, The Dreamers of Allianz plays out during a time when non-conformity with the world system means persecution and risking everything for the glory of The Name.

"Hopefully this novel," said Dr. Chiareli, "will lead to a thoughtful reflection of the current state of the Christian church today, relative to political and societal trends. My hope is that each reader will put themselves in the novel and consider what choices he or she would make as someone living in that new world system reality."

Dr. Chiareli's research focuses on ethnography - the cultural study of people groups - and he has studied people groups all over the world. He wrote his doctoral thesis in his native country of Brazil.

In addition to his work in Covenant's sociology department, Dr. Chiareli is a sensei in the martial art of aikido. He previously founded an aikido school in Jackson, Tn.

The Dreamers of Allianz is available for purchase from Covenant's bookstore, The Tuck Shoppe.
