Not Worthy of Ochs, Holmberg, Macdonald, or Exum
While I've always respected and valued the journalism of the Chattanooga Times over and against that of the News Free Press, the latter's mission and role in Chattanooga was hardly illegitimate. Both entities (and their publishers) would be appalled that an article such as this one was even considered for going to print.
The "Staff Report" attribution is amusing, if not telling: no individual journalist at the TFP was willing to take credit; its existence is an editorial embarrassment.
The Times Free Press went on something of a blitz this summer & fall, raising the bar across the board. Chattanoogans deserve a paper which we cannot take for granted, that we are proud of, and that our elected officials fear for its unflinching execution of journalistic craft.
