No Country For Old Men

I just watched No Country for Old Men, the latest Coen Brothers movie, based on the Cormac McCarthy novel, with its name taken from the William Butler Yeats poem "Sailing to Byzantium".

It's a perfect movie. If The Big Lebowski was a work of comedic perfection, No Country is the Coen brother's work of thriller perfection (nevermind that it's far more than just a thriller).

It's also disturbingly pessimistic, not immoral or even amoral, just pessimistic, which is apparently more than can be said for the novel.
