Corruption Doesn't Always Win
Mayor Littlefield announced today that he is no longer trying to give former-councilperson Marti Rutherford retirement benefits.
If you're unfamiliar with the "Marti Rutherford Issue", she was the former Chattanooga City Councilperson who allegedly lied about where she lived, claiming her residence was inside of a district where she did not, in fact, live.
Score one for the taxpayer & the proponents of integrity. Today "Career Politicians" and "Entitlement Bureaucracy" suffered a defeat, and I hope it's the first of many more to come.

Yes, it's good that the mayor is no longer going to bat for this outlandish idea. But somehow I think that we've not heard the last of Marti Rutherford; not to mention that there's got to be some backstory to what went on in the last few days.
