Charles Love To Testify on Behalf of Defense in Crutchfield Case
According to The Noogan, former Hamilton County School Board member Charles Love (who recently plead guilty to federal bribery charges) was subpoena'd by the defense on behalf of State Senator Ward Crutchfield (who if you don't know, is about to be tried for bribery himself).
It'll be interesting to see how the defense uses the testimony of Mr. Love, as all of the persons charged in the "Tennessee Waltz" FBI sting with the exception of Senator Crutchfield have either pleaded guilty or been convicted. It'll especially be interesting to see what the defenses take on the recordings the FBI has of the various parties engaged in the alleged illegal activity. Like Hank Hill said, the tapes are "hard to overcome".
My bet is that Ward serves 2 - 3 years, and when he's released early, our recently re-elected Mayor will have a position available for him as the chair of the "Ethics-Based Initiatives Council" or something like that.
