The Ace Hotel

The New York Times has a great piece on The Ace Hotel, a just-opened remodel of the Clyde Hotel, built in 1912. The slideshow is a must see. Note the owners/designers pervasive need to create engaging space connected with the history of Portland and its cultural icons. Must. Stay. There.

I know this stuff is easy to you web designers, but did you notice that you can grab the postcards and slide them around the browser window?

I've never seen that before except for the customization pages on things like My Google and My Yahoo.

Oh yeah, jesusdressup.com can do that too.
