Table Two Bar & Grille
April and I celebrated Valentines Day with Julian & Mary-Elizabeth at Table Two Bar & Grille Restaurant last night. Have to mention again how great their space is: it's really nice to have a dining space like that in Chattanooga. Somehow our reservation was lost, but they found us a nice tucked-away table nonetheless.
Unfortunately, the food was sub-par and the service atrocious. You do not claim to serve broccolini and then instead deliver barely cooked broccoli that looks like it was just bought at Bi-Lo.
If you'd like to make a reservation at Table 2 Restaurant, make a reservation at St. John's or The Meeting Place instead.

Your restaurant reviews are making me hungry. But now I know the good places to eat that have opened since I left town.

well, when we ate there, not only did they give us broccoli for broccolini, but they gave us regular potatoes, when the menu said we were getting "Black Truffle Potatoes", there were not black truffles anywhere. They gave my friend Mary Elizabeth bouillabase with dead unopened clams in it and wouldn't let Julian change his rice for potatoes. The cake was the worse, driest cake I have ever had. I would have preferred a grocery store cake. The waiter made comments about our food. It was horrid. The whole thing.
We have been once before when I did enjoy it, but I just thought the V-day dinner was a study in corner-cutting and mass-producing food.

i must admit--i don't know what black truffles or bouillabase are. however, i DO know what cakes are.
next time you need a special touch for your romantic evenings, give me a call. jess or i will cook up an incredible, moist dish that'll have you saying, "that really was better than table two."

I'm with Holton - Carrabba's is the best Italian chain this side of Italy - closest thing to actual Italian food I've found since being back in the States, outside of my family, of course. Granted, I've never tried Luciano's stuff...
