Fobbit

Received a hilarious e-mail from my brother-in-law in Iraq mentioning the term "Fobbit". Ran a google search, and pleasantly enough a Chattanooga Times Free Press article on the term was in the top ten.

According to Urban Dictionary (and a really bizarre YouTube video which I'll refrain from linking to), Fobbit was originally a term referring to Asian imigrants (as in "Fresh Off The Boat"), but the troops in Iraq have "re-tasked" the term to apply (in a very negative sense) somebody who doesn't go out on patrol and is stationed / spends their time in various "safe zones".

The author of that article is a good buddy of mine! He was the TFP guy in Iraq and is now their DC guy... crazy small world.
