Strawberry Rhubarb Pie

At one point during my trip to California, my father, myself, and my uncle Tom were discussion rhubarb pie, the joys, the delights, and the difficulty in finding a good slice.

Then my Dad remembered that a local chain restuarant, Marie Calendars, often served rhubarb pie. We left immediately to procure a slice or two.

While they did not carry Rhubarb Pie proper, they did have strawberry rhubarb pie. Rounds of coffee were ordered, along with the pie a la mode. It was, as they say, a delight.

Then, out of nowhere, my wife was able to find some rhubarb not at Bi-lo or Greenlife or Fresh Market, but at Wal-Mart. Whodathunkit? Now I just need to get my mother to e-mail me her recipe.
