Forza Italia! & The Zidane Headbutt
Being an American and rooting for France is like some bizarre cultural twist on the Stockholm Syndrome. So props to those of you that didn't do it.
What I really want to know is, prior to Zidane's Mortal Kombat Finishing Move, what did Materazzi say? I'm still shocked by the whole thing.

Does really matter what he said? Zidane has no excuse for that kind of act. It will haunt him forever, inspite of what a wonderous career he has had.

Violence at a soccer game...
Unbelievable!!!
But seriously, perhaps he should have used that anger to, I dunno, PUT A BALL IN THE NET.

Josiah,
Apparently Zidane has head butted before in a game in 2001 versus SV Hamburg.

That was pretty insane. I'm glad I saw it - I've never even really watched a soccer match before.

Not that this excuses zizou's insanity (I doubt anything could), but perhaps a couple of clips of materazzi's "greatest hits" (recipient of said head butt) will explain the character of the man who did the provoking. (as a side note, I believe the current rumor is that Materazzi called his sisters prostitutes and his father a traitor to Algeria (where Zidane was born), with possibly some ethnic slurs thrown in).
