Stephen Colbert At The White House Correspondents Dinner Roasts President Bush

I've watched the video a few times now, and it gets more and more stunning with each viewing. Just the absolute guts it took for Stephen Colbert to stand up there and wail on pretty much everyone in the room. It's stunning, just stunning. Check the link for downloads to all the vids.

My fav line, just for the turn of the phrase:

"I believe the government that governs best is the government that governs least. And by these standards, we have set up a fabulous government in Iraq.""

I've got a tape of Imus from the '96 dinner which is equally, if not more, vicious...

He's got balls I'll give you that. But he was obviously nervous...he was funniest as a correspondent on the Daily Show. His show isn't even that good. But he can be funny.

On the contrary, I think The Colbert Report is brilliant. Sure, in fairness I don't think it can be compared to the Daily Show (they're more different than they are alike), but Colbert makes me laugh out loud every time I watch.
