President Niel Nielson on SACS Warning

Just got this in an e-mail from the College on the SACS warning. Good stuff:

You have probably heard or read that Covenant College has been placed on warning status by our accrediting association, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. This warning comes as a result of some questions about our adult degree completion program, reviewed in the fall of 2004.

The fact is that Covenant College remains fully accredited, with full accreditation status for the entire college program. However, the warning requires that we address specific issues regarding our adult degree completion program. We will supply all information requested by late summer 2006.

Two years ago, similar concern was expressed about Covenant’s financial condition, and the outcome was that Covenant was fully affirmed in its financial health.

We appreciate the ongoing support and prayers of our many constituencies as we work through this process. Please contact Dr. Jeff Hall, Vice President of Academic Affairs, for further details.

Covenant College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA, 30033-4097, phone (404) 679-4501) to award associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees.

Isn't that the same response that you quoted in the earlier post? Just now it has Nielson's name attached?
