Covenant College to Give Free Tuition/Housing/Etc. to Students Displaced by Hurricane Katrina

Article here. What a brilliant idea.

Covenant College will make admission available to up to 15 students who were enrolled in a college or university that has suspended operations due to the devastating effects of hurricane Katrina. Covenant will waive all tuition, fees, and room and board costs for these students for the fall 2005 semester. The College is intent on assisting displaced students in a timely and efficient manner, so that they may begin or resume their college education with as little disruption as possible. Students may contact Mrs. Jan Weaver, assistant director of admissions, at 706.419.1437, to initiate an expedited admissions process.

Covenant has also offered guest housing to families who have been displaced from their homes as a result of hurricane Katrina.

I bet they'll still have to pay for parking though, eh?

*if* they have a car that is...

Do you think that free tuition applies to any students who attended the colleges down there, or just the students who also had a full residency there?

Good for them.

sorry, i have a question that doesnt pertain: as a michigan fan, are you rooting for texas to beat osu tomorrow despite the fact that we waxed you in the rose bowl?

Posted by: dp at September 9, 2005 2:13 PM

Actually DP, I'm rooting for OSU. Because if OSU wins their ranking is higher, probably #2. Which means if Michigan beats OSU, we'll be going to the National Championship game 'gainst USC.

Pending we beat ND tomorrow, and Iowa later on (our two biggest challenges).

Posted by: JosiahQ at September 9, 2005 3:49 PM

valid. but we still waxed you in the rose bowl.

Posted by: dp at September 9, 2005 4:07 PM

and we're gonna lose tomorrow.

Posted by: dp at September 9, 2005 4:08 PM

A field goal in the final seconds isn't a waxing.

Posted by: JosiahQ at September 9, 2005 4:09 PM
