When You're Young You Get Sad. When You're Just a Little Older You Get Busy
I used to dig having time to be depressed. Sitting 'round with mi amigo's knocking back litres of Boones listening to Uncle Tupelo postulating 'bout postulating and the possiblity of even more postulations. Ryan Adam's was right when he said "When you're young/you get sad".
Anyways, now I just don't have time for it, or I can't afford it 'cause if I get depressed or decide to chill in a funk it unavoidably effects April. Quite frankly, I may enjoy being depressed, but I don't enjoy making somebody else depressed. Especially not my wife.
Well, I found this amazing song by The Constantines "Soon Enough" [mp3 via Said the Gramaphone].
For whatever reason I've been listening to the Amelie soundtrack again. Made me remember the summer I got engaged and house-sat for The Stuarts, who I miss.
In the extended entry is my August playlist, you can find some of these songs for download on Said the Gramaphone. You can also hear them being played on some mix CD's I made for Fitness Together:
The really, really good songs you should dig for I've noted with an asterisk
"Soon Enough" - The Constantines *
"Me Gusta Tu" - Manu Chao
"Pon de Replay - " Rihanna
"Bum Like You" - Robyn *
"The Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth" - Clap Your Hands *
"Nothing Comes to Rest" - Unbunny
"Oh Mandy" - Spinto Band *
"Idiocy" - The Double
"Keepsake Pt. 1" - Grumpy Bear
