Phil Fulmer is Football Evil
If you've talked football with me for more than 5 minutes we're gonna talk about Tennessee football ('cause I live in Southeastern TN) and I'm gonna tell you point blank I hate fat Phil Fulmer. He's fat, ugly, stupid, and hick. Have you seen his TV show?
I've hated Phil Fulmer ever since '97, when he vindictively ranked Michigan 4th in the Coaches poll (an undefeated team, mind you) 'causing a split national championship with Nebraska (which was ridiculously).
One coach, one vote. If you recall, '97 was also the year Charled Woodson, a Michigan player won the Heisman over *cough* *cough* Peyton Can't Win a Big Game Manning. One wonders if Fat Fulmer just did it out of spite.
So Phil Fulmer is evil and Tennessee players can't seem to refrain from breaking the law. Rob in Madtown has a great little piece on how Tennessee players are being given cards for their wallets saying "THINK" with guidelines for good behavior, and by good they mean not breaking the law.

He is fat, I guess he is ugly (compared to the other attractive football coaches), not sure about stupid and a hick (although he is from Tennessee originally). You did forget successful.
I agree with most of your other points. Tennessee fans get a little worked up about the Woodson/Manning thing. Both were awesome players. Manning may have the NFL edge although Woodson is still playing.
I think Michigan fans get a little worked up about Fulmer and Tennessee. (at least thats what I get by reading your post)

A little testy this morning I see...
While Fulmer may not be a genius (I haven't seen his test scores) as Greg pointed out, he is successful. Now I'm sure there are numerous other factors that contribute to that - but for better or worse, he's been a part of it all.
Spiteful votes have been a disgraceful part of "the game," and until we get a playoff system everybody will get screwed over.
Hurry on down to Greyfriar's and I'll buy you a cup of coffee - you seem like you need one this morning.

Fat Phil Fulmer is an albatros around the neck of college football, especially in the SEC. I only wish Casy "Iceman" Clausen would be around this year to make Phil look even worse...at least they'll have his little brother Rick, who sadly enough doesn't look anything like Val Kilmer.
The only way Fat Phil knows how to vote is vindictively, he demonstrated that once again last year after my Auburn Tigers beat him twice...come on Phil, give me a damn break...Jason "sixth year" White over Jason "best year of his life" Campbell? I think it's funny that UT chooses to use a picture of one of their two losses to AU last year on their 2005 on-line schedule. UT, the team that beat Vandy by 5 points last year, and lost to a sloppy, couldn't-buy-a-win Notre Dame team. Ha! Fat Phil Fulmer, you disgust me.

sounds like I should buy a pot of coffee...

I posted this last night, not this morning.
Don't get me wrong, I'm starting to think Michigan was ranked too highly in the preseason polls too. The offense is downright loaded, but there's just too many questions w/ the defense to have me that confident.
Posted by: JosiahQ at August 22, 2005 9:14 AM
Ah, just noticed the post time... No Michigan comments here, rank 'em number one if you want. I was just trying to keep folks blood pressure down :)
The coffee offer still stands.
Posted by: stelmodad at August 22, 2005 9:36 AM
You can hate him but you sure can't beat him. Once Michigan his #3 in the nation with a Sophomore QB then come and talk.
Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I was beginning to wonder if there were any Vol fans reading Chattablogs.
Posted by: stelmodad at August 22, 2005 11:51 AM
Or maybe you can't stand the fact that TN edged out Michigan in both the ESPN and AP polls. I would probably feel the same way if my team was always playing second fiddle to such a powerhouse as the Vols.
Posted by: Vols Fan at August 22, 2005 1:19 PM
"powerhouse"
doesn't bother me that TN was ranked higher than UM. I think UM is ranked a bit high, they've got alot to proove.
Fulmer is still a fat, vindictive, evil coach.
Posted by: JosiahQ at August 22, 2005 1:24 PM
I see nothing wrong with what fulmer did...it's his vote to use how he pleases. But at the same time it furthers my case that the BCS shouldn't include any human polls. Computers are the only un-biased polls there are.
And evil or not you don't get to be the highest winning percentage of active coaches with luck.

Yeah, just by the power of the Dark Lord.

Perhaps more important than anything, Phil Fulmer is a man of family values, both on and off the field...and that's got to count for something, right?
Posted by: Micah at August 22, 2005 2:19 PM
:) that is funny. Not sure if it shows that he has family values. It does show that he didn't pass his looks on to his daughters.

i strongly object to the words "manning" and "edge" being used in the same sentence (unless of course the "edge" you are referring to is edgerrin james) especially as it relates to this burgeoning michigan/tennessee rivalry - i think i have two words for peyton manning: ty law
Posted by: physicalpants at August 22, 2005 6:57 PM
and now i must object to the misrepresentation of phil fulmer and his "amazing" winning percentage - especially considering he has no less than 200 fewer victories than jo pa who comes in at number 2 so it seems to me phil's statistics are just a bit bloated - which is alot like phil...and also his players tend to be quitters - [see mannin, peyton; munoz,anthony]- and every other coach of promise in the sec moved on to bigger and better things long ago - and this is why the tennessee volunteers will finish no higher than third in the sec. thank you.

Posted by: Teresa at September 28, 2005 5:34 PM
How many players did UT have to kick off the team for cheating, and before you go calling anyone morons look at the academic rankings University of Alabma beat out Harvard University in Academics. Know who is a moron.

Plenty of silly assed people posting on this forum I see.
Ohhh, Phil Fulmer is fat. Ohhhhhh, how original.
I do not know if Fulmer voted Auburn down in the polls or not, I really do not care.
I actucally felt sorry that Auburn did not get to play USC in the big game in 2005 BCS game, but after reading whiney assed Auburn fans bitch about how Fulmer might have voted then down in the polls, screw em!!
You can still sit out by your trailer wearing kaki pants and button down colared shirts pretending that you too will be a great writer from the South such as John Grishom.
Work on that cotton mouth accent a little though so you can perfect that deep south aristoctratic Southan (Southern) accent. ;)
Go Vols.

Phil Fulmer is bad for football. He is vindictive, and acts like a fat spoiled little bitch. He wanted to play at Alabama, but went to Tennesse because he heard that the greatest coach of all time was retiring. He ratted out Alabama for the same things that we all know his program participates in because, well he knew he couldn't beat Alabama. Tennesse has one Nat'l Championship in the past 50 years, Bama has 7. All Phil Fulmer has is David Cutcliffe, that's it. And where did Cutcliffe play college ball? The University of Alabama.
For all you trash talking Auburn fans, win the big game just once, and then trash talk. Face it folks noone, not even Notre Dame has the respect and winning tradition that the Alabama Crimson Tide has. And yes UA has more Academic All Americans than any other school in the US of A, again. No 2 is Harvard. So you Yankees can just hate the game, because the players let in ROLL TIDE!!!

I HATE FAT PHIL! When Tennessee loses they always have to make excuses, they cant take the blame themeselves. He is a very ridiculous coach and it would benefit the SEC if Tennessee would fire his FAT ASS. I use to like Tennessee until he came along and destroyed the football tradition that Knoxville use to stand for.

this site is stupid if your from southeast tennessee, and dont like it.. then get the hell out of here you fuckin tool..

I think its funny that he voted michigan #4 way to go phil.Manning threw 38 touchdown passes.Over rated Woodson scored only 10 or 11 touchdowns.
Posted by: Big Dave at September 23, 2008 12:04 PM
charles woodson pffft!!! what has he done lately
Posted by: steve at November 4, 2008 10:08 AM
charles woodson is just a step above ryan leaf
Posted by: steve at November 4, 2008 10:17 AM
For the record, nobody who is making fun of Fulmer gets anywhere near the $2.05 mil per year that he does. Obviously he's a lot more successful and talented than many out there who seem to think they could do a better job.
