Ron Littlefield Funded by Big Media
not that its ALL that much of a surprise. So the story goes that back in 1990 Ron Littlefield pushed through a measure that stopped any new billboards going up along Highway 153, declaring it a scenic corridor.
Then, in 2004 Ron pushed through another measure relaxing restrictions on billboards along Highway 153. By the end of the year, six billboard owners/organizations had received permits for new billboards along the formerly designated "scenic corridor." Four of those six owners gave money in excess of $1,000 to Ron Littlefields mayoral campaign.
And of course, the biggest beneficiary of Ron's relaxed billboard measure that also gave at least $1,000 to his campaign: Clear Channel Outdoor PAC, proof positive that Big Media wont just try to buy Presidents and Senators, but city councilmen and potential mayors too.
