It's been probably a good 6 years since I really digested some Smashing Pumpkins. Since their entire catalogue dun got released on iTunes I've been slowing pulling it all back in. "Siamese Dreams & Melancholy and the Really Long Album Name" really are incredible albums. I know my opinion is a bit tainted by nostalgia, but I'm impressed with how they stand up nearly 10 years later.
I remember though in highschool we had this one pretentious artist "wanker" that everyone in my class deferred to for what was "cool". They'd ask him to do drawings or whatever for them, and I remember this one time he was working on a "piece" for some girl and I asked him if I could look at it and it turns out he was shamelessly copying (literally tracing) the album art from Melancholy. I used to think I was the only one who didn't buy his bs, but time really does tell: rumor has it he still lives in the same small town as a 911 operator or something.
Of course, there's probably something profoundly lame about still disliking people you knew back in highschool, as in "what do you have to prove". Lots, I think.
Tomorrow is get off your backside and vote day. So do make sure to do that. The Coptix Voting Love Train will be departing around 10:30, so if you'd like to roll with us, by all means showup. I'm planning on hanging at the Coulter Campaign Shindig at the Choo Choo in the evening. So hopefull I'll see some of you there.
Oh, and congrats to Alice for getting elected Hamdems secretary.
Also, do the Free iPod Shuffle thing. Its only 3 referrals, and I need 2 more.

Welcome to the Rocky Top Brigade from a one time Volunteer who now lives in DC but still travels to LaFayette, GA regualrly and has family in the St. Elmo area (and a son in love with the tow truck museum)
BTW - there is nothing lame at all about still disliking the losers you were stuck in high school with.
