Google Maps Adds Satellite Imagery; is Now Coolest Webtool Around
Google maps has been kickin' it in beta for awhile now, and yesterday they added full satellite imagery. Just go to google maps, do a search, and then click on "satellite" and you've got straight up drill down to about 1" = 50', which is incredible. Plus its full color, not simply B&W. And its all so smooth in navigation: Coptix has managed to waste about 20 minutes this morning goofing around with it.
It looks like the imagery for St. Elmo was taken in the last two years, during the time the new firehall on Tennessee was being built, but not any closer than 6 months ago 'cause the pool on 4210 Tennessee avenue is still there.
Anyways, enjoy. I love Google.

The bummer is that after about Germantown Road, Brainerd is a wash of bubbly green. The Ross house shows nicely - but not much further out. Google Rocks, but could rock better!

Actually Rob, the area around our house shows nicely but not my street. Apparently there are some very large bushy trees above the first half of Pinewood Lane.
