Ann Coulter Gives Me A Hug; I Give Her My Vote

Awhile back I made the statement that if Ann Coulter gave me a hug she'd get my vote and I'd go door to door with her in St. Elmo.

Well, through a rather hilarious turn of events she found my blog and left a comment taking me up on the offer. Since then we've chatted a good bit via e-mail, and I can say I'm really impressed with her vision for the city and her deep understanding of economic and civic development.

So anyways, Ann invited me to a little rally last night at the Choo Choo which was pretty much an incredibly diverse gathering of the "who's who" in Chattanooga. Everyone from my old friend Chris at FireEye (a pleasant surprise) to President Nielson to Olan Mills Jr. The crowd got pretty whipped into a frenzy, and it was great to see that not only does Ann have a broad vision for the city, it's backed up by a broad and diverse base of support.

Anyways, Ann and I chatted and she completed her end of the bargain, as you can see below. Tomorrow I'll complete mine, walking door to door with her in St. Elmo along with a few other folks I got together (Doug Hightshue and Estar Patton, to name a couple). Should be a good time. I suppose the whole thing wont be over though until I cast my vote for her in two weeks, which I think you should do too.

So beings J. Q. Roe's involvement with city politics. Five will get you ten that he's mayor within 15 years.

I call dibs on communications director. :)

Quite frankly I don't wanna be mayor. Right now I'd settle for in 5-10 years St. Elmo being one heckuva Historic District, on par with mid-town Atlanta and west Portland. We'll get it there.

That settles it. Now he's denying political ambitions. Mesh, get on those campaign speeches...

What, you're denying my pure, altruistic nature? Ryan, I'm incapable of irony. We all know this.

Just like you're incapable of sarcasm, eh?

If you'll give a vote for a hug, what would you do for a cookie?

She gave you a huge? Huge what? I'm joking...

Impressive......very impressive.

Josiah, you are doing some of the things that I always wanted to do. We need to hang out a bit next time I come up. At least over a morning coffee or drink at night and catch up on some ideas.
