News Flash: Amy Lee is Just So Tired of Being Here

Sweet mary does Evanescence suck. I wish she'd stay "suppressed by all her [my] childish fears" and stop flooding the market with her bad highschool poetry and pseudo-metal pop.

It's got to be some of the most anticipatorily (is that even a word) cliched lyrics ever.

I personally enjoy Evanescence. Though I sort of get the same feeling with them as I do with Linkin Park. I love Linkin Park but I always feel like I should apoligize for liking them. Oh well.

Apology not accepted :) Seriously though, there's just no excuse for liking that shit.

Josiah and Mesh: you aren't the only ones having problems because of this series. Apparently the financial district is having problems of its own.

Hehe. Well while I feel like I should apologize, I certainly won't. I'm not going to be a sell out to my own musical tastes just listen to some indie crap deemed acceptable by all the philosophy majors. ;) I'll take a good rock out session with Korn or Deftones or yes even Linkin Park any day of the week.

Todd, I was in agreement with you up until the philsophy majors part. Now you just sound insecure. And you should be: funny thing 'bout that white spec on top of bird poop, its still a big piece of crap, like Korn, Evanescence, and Linkin Park.

Nah I'm not insecure at all really, it's more of just enjoying taking stabs at philosophy majors as much as possible. Hehe. Theoretically a person's major has absolutely nothing to do with their music preference. I'm just against any one who considers their own musical tastes above some one elses as if their preferences were appealing to some absolute musical truth that all those lesser musical genres seem to be missing out of. You are free to dislike a genre of music as much as you are to like one, but in my experience, those of your particular musical persuasion tend to look down on those who are not, as if they are some sort of lesser life form that has not transcended into a higher form of man.

Truthfully I do enjoy several bands in what I guess would be considered the indie music scene. (I honestly have no idea what the hell that even is). My sis is into every type of music there is so she passes some of the good ones my way occasionally.

What do mean by "anticipatorily" cliched? I think they're cliched right now?

I don't own the Evanescence cd -- I haven't even heard the whole thing -- and I'm there with you on the lyrics, Josiah, but there is something about that voice...

Although, Amy Lee is no Karin Bergquist
