Too Horrible to Not Repeat

As Andy mentioned this morning, a group of us went to catch the 2 buck showing of Mystic River. Well, we had to take some side roads 'cause good ol' VP Dick Cheney was in town to dredge some high-society old money Chattavegas cash for Dubyah's campaign coffers and well, we can't have VP Dick Cheney driving on I-24 with any other cards now can we? He needs it all for himself....or something...

But onwards: so we're cruising the backstreets of scenic East Brainerd/Ridge trying to make our way back over to I-24 and we're behind this elderly couple in a convertible. We're listing to U2 fairly loudly and somebody who will remain un-named remarks (NOT ME) "man, that old lady is really rocking out!"

Upon further examination, she wasn't rocking out, she had Parkinsons. Un-named speaker didn't know this of course, but it was quite possibly one of the most horribly awkward moments I've been in in a long time.

Just so you know, the Red Wings just got beat 2-1 by the Flames. Booya.

"booya" huh? did you read about people saying that when hanging out watching sports with their friends?

Posted by: JosiahQ at April 22, 2004 10:38 PM

I did! Now I say "booya" whenever my favorite sporting team achieves victory! I also say it a lot when I'm around black people; it makes them feel more comfortable around me!

I use exclamation marks senselessly, for no reason! Sometimes I use two, when one just doesn't cut it!!
