Firefox

Despite having a ridiculously cheesy name, I think I've found my new favorite browser, FireFox. I've been frustrated with IE for many moons now, especially since I used an early version of FireFox (named Phoenix) which had tabbed browsing. But it was a slow & clunky browser, with lots of bugs.

I found a temporary fix in Avant Browser which is essentially and IE mod, but it had some lame elements to it, like not being able to open a specific link in its own window instead of being another tab in the Avant Browser window. Frustrating.

The new FireFox though is fast, resource light, and has tabbed browsing and type-ahead-find. It's missing some little things, like now I can't see the embedded "buttons" for adding bold, italics, underline, or URL tags in my New Entry window. But I'm willing to let those little things go. The pros far outweigh the cons.

firefox = mozilla firebird w/ a name change. They ran in to some legal trouble and were forced to change.
