Wedding Reception Music

I'm taking suggestions for songs to be played at the wedding reception. Any help would be much appreciated.

"When The Money's Gone"
album: Living Proof
artist: Cher

When the money's gone
Will you be my friend
Float a small row boat till our ship comes in
When the winter nights chill us to the soul
Will you feed the fire
Spin the straw to gold
When the money's gone

When the money's gone
Will you get cold feet
Will you still be there if the ends don't meet
If we're in the red, just forget the green
Take a bus with me
No more limousines
When the money's gone
Will you still want me

::Chorus
Oh what a fine life I give to you
All you ever want
Will you still be there
Will you pull me through when the cash don't come
And if you're mine
Will you still love me wherever we fall
When the money's gone

Oh, will you want me baby
Oh, will you need me baby
Oh, will you love me baby
When the money's gone
Money, money, money's gone

When the money's gone
No more caviar
Will you eat fast food in a beat up car
Live life modestly, lost in lotto dreams
Will you find your way through it all with me
Through it all with me

And a mile off the shore
Flies a bird who'll land no more
As the tide pulls the sea
So you always will pull me
forever more

My top three:

The Way You Look Tonight, by Frank Sinatra

Music Sounds Better With You, by Stardust

Love of My Life, by the Dave Matthews Band

The Stardust one is the best for dancing.

Take Five, Brubeck

Posted by: Jeannette at April 22, 2003 11:27 AM

You guys rule.

Mike, I downloaded that Cher song, and as good as it is, I'm not sure Isaac n' crew could pull it off!

Sinatra's The Way You Look Tonight is definately being played, and I dunno if Carl "Caruthers" Cadwell can bust out any Brubeck, but it'd be cool if he could.

And Stephen, that's awesome. Where do you work?

I'm a contractor at TVA. If you've ever seen Office Space... I am Peter Gibbons, except I don't program, I do server admin type stuff.

Re: Cher

Well, maybe they could slow it down--put a country spin on it...

How about U2's 'One'?

We're one, but we're not the same
We get to carry each other, carry each other

Mike, I definately thought about having them do "One". I just dunno if Isaac would be into it. Heck, I dunno who would sing it at that point. I'm thinking about maybe one of their other songs, like With Or Without You or something like that.

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds - "Into My Arms". Just don't pay attention to the deistic parts.

Michael Knott's "Halo".

"Blood of Eden" - Peter Gabriel
