Downtown Economic Development Plan i.e. "Angelou Study" Rollout This Thursday
7:30 am, The Chattanoogan.
The vision of the plan is that:
"Downtown Chattanooga will become a vibrant, premiere location of choice for clean, compatible, and innovative businesses and energetic, creative, and educated citizen"
Goals:
* Attract & Build ‘Knowledge Based’ Businesses
* Become a Talent Magnet
* Strengthen downtown retail
* Increase connections between UTC & the Central Business District
* Foster an entrepreneurial climate
* Bring new national awareness of Chattanooga
The presentation will include:
1. Trevor Hamilton from the Chamber of Commerce will present the Chamber's plan to target knowledge-based businesses
2. Gavin Thomas on downtown retail recruiting and Buy It Local
3. Helen Johnson from/on CreateHere
4. Jeff Cannon from/on green|spaces
5. SimCenter & National Center for Computational Engineer & other UTC initiatives from Roger Brown
Katie Bullard from Angelou & Paul Brock from RiverCity will be hosting/running the event.
Fantastic, and it's great to see the Chamber on board. Another Chattanooga shot.

Just a gentle correction - the name is officially SimCenter: The National Center for Computational Engineering. It's one entity that just changed names to reflect its national status.
