Then It's The Memory of Our Betters

I took the time to write a number of Top 10 Lists for 2K7: "Chattanooga Moments" (mainx24 'round 12:30 am.), Movies (No Country for Old Men), Top Ten Chattanooga Delta Bravos (the Mayor, natch), Albums, Songs, etc. This medium is, of course, arrogant and narcissistic. Opting for something of a lesser moral defeat, instead of wasting your time (or not, as it were), I just ask that you watch the following music video, which I consider to be the best video of the year, the best song of the year, and from the best album of the year.

At last count I had listened to this song 149 times this year. I'm certain I'll hit 160 before the year ends.

You always tell me never to speak of music, especially in your presence though I have to disagree with your best video of the year nomination. Though its a great song, I have to say Stronger by Kanye West is a better video, but maybe that's b/c I like the Japanese Akira esque Animish post apocalypitc(sp) setting more.

This video I just felt was a little plain, and as far as entertainment goes I want a video to grab me and not allow me to not watch the video. This one I can totally push play and then do something else and just listen.

A truly great video is one you play on youtube, and you can't hit alt tab because you are mezmerized by the screen.

Though my favorite video of the year is Signal Fire by Snow Patrol. I realize they're not your favorite, but that video with the kids doing the school play of spider man is just awesome. And the poor little kid with glasses watching on as his part is all but two seconds and has to watch the whole play from behind stage... Plus the chubby kid playing doc oc.... i am totally insisting that my anna-kate's school does this play...

Top 10 lists are not an inherently narcissistic medium. How can it be bullshit to state a preference?

I still don't think you've heard it as much as I've been forced to hear it at work this year.

Blogs Mesh, blogs.

JT: it's a crime that they very nearly ruined such a good song.

Chris: Stronger was definitely a great video. Chew on the LCD video some more. It'll click.

I'll chew on you....wait that sounds gross... scratch that

You and the pitchfork staff should hang out more, since they like that LCD song almost as much as you do. But seriously, I don't know what peoples' fascination with this song is. At best, it sounds like existential prose read to a monotone keyboard track. I'd like to hear an apology...in the old school Greek sense of the term.

Definitely a great song, and LCD is also my pick for best show of the year. Just good rock and roll fun.
