Christmas in Tuskegee
Just rolled back into town after spending Christmas down in Montgomery, Alabama w/ April's family. Her brother Nathan, an officer in the Marines, enjoys hunting, and consequently (or not) guns, and he tends to bring a few (and give a few as Christmas presents). Takes me back to my childhood: B.R.A.S.S.On Christmas Eve we went to a range in the Tuskegee National Forest about an hour SE of Montgomery, which is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. We got our National Forest day-use permit from the gas station. I think the locals were as much into/surprised by the m4 as they were my pink shoes (or by the fact I knew what I was doing, or that I was taking pictures). The mullet count was somewhere around 3.
Montgomery as a town has pretty much checked out. Each time I visit I try to find some neighborhood, somewhere, anywhere, with a pulse, but to no avail.
Also, Juno is great.
