The Editors of The Bagpipe Speak
Emily & Max Belz, the Editor-in-Chief & Manager Editor of The Bagpipe respectively, have written an excellent piece on the recent fracas surrounding the College's new policy of "prior restraint".
They make the following statement:
Initially the new policy was presented to Foreman and the Bagpipe staff as a Student Senate measure. Dean Brad Voyles wrote and presented the policy to Senate for their review, but never for a vote. The new policy contradicts one of the Senate by-laws which gives editors the final decision on publications. Faculty advisors, who the policy directly impacts, were not consulted before it was established as rule. The policy makers’ lack of communication with the Bagpipe writers and Dr. Foreman has been disrespectful and disingenuous.
Awesome. Pulls no punches.
Further:
Members of administration have responded with a willingness to discuss this policy. Conversations will continue with all policy-making channels such as Student Senate as we seek resolution.
A cautious path. I'm of the opinion that they should simply take the paper independent. It's the best option both for the paper and for the college, and there exists significant local support for such a measure. The College would respect their decision.
And finally, with a stroke of genius, they end with this line:

Ive already commented on this elsewhere, but let me just say again that Emily and Max really did do a great job with the editorial. The article felt really balanced and yet throughly honest. Belz's, you have been chosen for such a time as this! Im glad the paper is in your hands.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..... APPALACIAN STATE!!!!! WE"RENT THEY the ones with the crappy music video? Goes to show u don't make fun of crappy colleges.... wow so i guess theres always next year for Michigan eh? Seems to be a recorruing theme up there, what r you guys the cubs of college football?

There's absolutely no comeback to this (or these jokes). I'm trying to think of a more embarrassing loss in the history of sports... I mean, there have been worse chokes, but not overall losses.
So get your rips in, it's like beating up on a handicap kid.
