"Do You Age Better With Time", A Guest Blog By Tom Griscom

Tomorrow is my birthday, or as many have come to call it, "Christmas in June". I'll be 28. I'm staring down the barrel of 30. It feels good.

Tom Griscom, former Director of Communications for President Ronald Reagan and the current the Publisher & Executive Editor of The Chattanooga Times Free Press, has graciously written a guest blog post in anticipation of the event.

Enjoy

Do you age better with time?

Some of us do but others such as Josiah questionably get better with age. As another calendar year turns, he has a few new life lessons to add to his growing digital book of experience. He now knows how to read product labels, i.e., Peanut Butter. But the panic he showed during the great PB scare is reason enough to hope his name never appears on a CDC infectious disease list. There is the Karl Rove coverup scam in which he took the unsuspecting White House guru and turned him into a viral marketing ploy. Daily Kos and others fell to the chicanery. The Mainstream Media and the so-called Blogospherists fell into the spidery web Josiah wove to shed light on Karl's hidden reason for using the president of the free world as a cover for a clandestine meeting here. To date Karl remains untouched by congressional subpoenas even though he was shown with "photoshopped evidence"under his arm of the mysterious emails that supposedly are lost in Internet space. Josiah remains as the puppetmaster, pulling the strings from Chattanooga to D.C. Quite a year for a young man who scoots around on his his two-wheeler (he can't afford a big boys cycle) and looks for misplaced tombstones in the most unusual places in St. Elmo. How does he top 2007 in the year ahead? It's a presidential year and there will be more than enough fodder to keep the aging Mr. Ro(v)e occuppied. The challenge is to determine is it real or viral; only Josiah knows for sure.

You grow old. You grow old. You shall wear the bottoms of your cargo pants rolled.

My first response to the (deserved) flattery of Griscom et al was to scroll down in anticipation of a counterpoint by Robert T Nash. Sadly, none so far. I say sadly because Josiah has picked up some good enemies, and to really celebrate the full person on such a Christmas the full spectrum of his community needs to join in.

Perhaps Nash has a bat-signal. Or maybe I just need to type something nasty about Enigma.

Also, happy birthday Josiah.

Happy birthday, Josiah!

I've had a cough lately. Could you perhaps tell me if my condition is viral or not? If you're not too occuppied scooting around on your gayped, that is.

Sincerely,
Touching Karl

Happy Birthday. Now choose your insult:

(1) Fat, pink and shiny is no way to go through life, son...

(2) Mr. Roe, I know Tom Griscom, and you're no Tom Griscom...

(3) Coptix coins new marketing slogan aimed at luring retirees: "Chattanooga. When you're ready to settle. For less..."

(4) Irresponsible Journalism makes the legalese on a mattress tag look like literature...

(5) Those who can do; those who can't get into web development...

Derisively Yours,

RTN/XXX/OOO/666/365
