Unfortunately No Robert T
Some folks are looking to change the name of the Southside to the "South Quarter". I think it's misguided, for a host of reasons. Perhaps a longer post about this later.
I'll be on WGOW this afternoon, discussing the St. Elmo Superette shenanigans and gentrification in St. Elmo. What I'd really like to talk about is what we're going to do about the zombies. Figuring out a gameplan ought to be at the top of St. Elmo President Scott Noll's to-do list, but he's slacking.
"Chattanooga's Own Douchebag" Robert T. Nash will not be present, but that's alright. I'm planning on outing him as the purveyor of the Worst Mayor Ever. That's right. Robert T. Whodathunkit?
Out of town panhandlers? Prepare to be Mannyhandled. Our City Council has managed to stop cell phone towers, chickens, and homeless people. They've got no chance.

South Quarter? Are there a bunch of Frenchmen living there now?
Stupid stupid stupid people come up with these ideas. As if the new name is going to make property in the area affordable.
Despite the newspaper article, I still scoff at the term "North Shore." Changing a neighborhood's name doesn't give it a new identity, it strips it of the one it already has.

I heard that the city might be changing the name of the "East Lake" neighborhood to East Crossbury On Lakeshire.

I prefer the term South Fifty Cent Piece for the Southside
And Craptown for East Lake
