Maybe Rocky Should Recycle the Ground Level Ozone
Tim Price has another excellent letter to the editor of the Chattanoogan on why Chattanooga wasn't chosen for the Toyota plant. Also, if you get the chance, you should pick up a copy of the main section of yesterday's Times Free Press Sunday edition. It's got a ton of information & history on Enterprise South that I found really informative.
Does anyone know who designed the Enterprise South logo and signage?
Finally, I can't really knock this. Of course, I've got my own conflict of interest, so one might consider my lack of moral distaste circumspect. Let me clarify: I find calculated "less-authentic" letters to the editor mildly distasteful, but I also think they are completely appropriate within the tradition of the editorial section.
If newspaper didn't want letters of that kind, the needed research could occur for the purposes of qualifying an author and/or disclosing any potential conflicts of interest. Yet who would want to undergo some kind of background check every time you set pen to paper (or keyboard to e-mail) to whip off a comment to your local newspaper?
Likely no-one, and the consequence is that the full spectrum of public opinion which includes those voices with "other" agendas are able to speak, and that's something I'm comfy with.
As long as people like Billy Blades keep outing them, of course.
