Table 2 Restaurant Chattanooga
Had the opportunity to grab dinner at the new Table 2 Restaurant (is it officially called Table Two Bar & Grille ?) on the Southside (or is it East Main / MLK?) last week with April and Fran & Aaron Thompson. Loved the atmosphere. The outdoor fireplace is perfect for catching a post-meal smoke if you're not in the mood for shuffling up to a crowded bar.
The Table Two Wine list was extensive. Menu diverse & interesting, though in their actual design and execution the menus detracted from an otherwise refreshing visual experience, and it seems like their kitchen was still learning the ropes.
If you can snag one of the semi-circle booths against the far wall you're in for a real Chattanooga fine dining treat.

Thanks for the invite... i hope you slip on a piece of mango and seriously scuff your new Keds.
That's it i'm moving to Atlanta... and moving to a suburbia neighborhood where my house will look just like the one next to mine!

Everyone, including myself, raves about Table 2's atmosphere because it's fresh and ecclectic. Finally - fine dining in an atmosphere that is fun, hip and unique. I've heard a lot of people sound off about Table 2 being a knock-off of restaurants from bigger cities like Atlanta or LA...and what's the problem with that?? I think it's about time someone thought Chattanooga deserved and would appreciate something new and fantastic.
What's really great is the fact that around 9ish the music gets a little funkier and the crowd gets a little more edgy. Being single and in my thirties, there wasn't a place that I felt comfortable going where I could mingle with my peers.
Can't wait until the weather gets warmer because Table 2's outdoor seating will totally rock. You people have no idea what Derek's got in store, but it's very good.
Just like any new restaurant, they've had to tweak the menu and service, but I have to say that a great effort is being made and I will go back time and time again.
By the way, everyone should join Table 2's Wine of the Month Club. What a fabulous deal!

I echo Becky's thoughts - what's wrong with BIG CITY hip right here in Chattanooga? I love the atmosphere - the interior is gorgeous. The semi-circle booths with the privacy drapes...very sexy. And speaking of sexy - there's this waiter named Nathan that should actually be listed as a menu item.
If you haven't been - GO!

We went to Table 2 last week for a special Christmas dinner mainly because they advertised they had Kobe beef. We ordered the Kobe beef dinner and were VERY disappointed! It was tough and chewy and certainly not up to Kobe beef standards. This was not only one dinner ordered, it was four--all of them very chewy. It was a very expensive and disappointing experience.
