Take Your Ultimatum
Its a long time, a year and a half, to wait for a new season of The Sopranos, but I don't care anymore. This Sunday is the premier of the final season, and we'll be having a Sopranos dinner to celebrate. There will be pasta and wine.
I believed I loan my copy of Gilead to someone. If you've got it, can I have it back? April wants to read it.
Absolutely awesome preview of the new Adbusters book, Design Anarchy here. Reading Adbusters, which I still do, is like having an ulcer of the mind and brain.
To be honest, I don't think Adbusters can stand up to the level of brutal deconstruction and cynicism they apply to the world i.e. why aren't they just another marketing/commercial gimmick? (nevermind that their "revolutionary" schools of "design practice and thought" incoherently call for more traditional & natural forms, but whatever).
That said, I find their work consistently visceral and compelling. Their "We're Back" (issue #56) post-collapse/crash was fascinating, and I/we shamelessly ripped off that vibe for cre824.
And we still need more Bada-Bling-Bling for a new Terrablogs server. So if you can spare a buck or three, I'll hug you the next time I see you. Lets say, 1 second of hug for every $2 you donate. Though that may be reason not to give...

my dear wife and i will be in town this weekend and we would love to (or at least i would) come over and watch the sopranos. while i've only seen one episode, at mesh's last year, i liked it and would love to have more distractions heeped on my life (not including alcohol and tobacco consumption).

Josiah, I'm not really getting your cre824 entry. Creative design, but is it really saying anything of substance? I may agree with the sentiments you're expressing in there, but it's hard to say when all you have to work with is a selection of soundbytes, some of which have a long history (particularly "we amuse ourselves to death" - it was clever the first time Postman said it).
