An Apology to Choltie

Some time ago I denigrated The Killers "Hot Fuss" in a convo with Choltie. I was misguided. "All These Things That I've Done" is IMO the best pop song of 2005. So earnest and unironically ironically cliche'd and "gloriously and righteously dumb".

They also serve as further evidence that every band desperately wants to sound like, or write that one song that is like, either U2 or The Beatles, most often The Beatles through U2 (who wrote every song analogous to "Hey Jude").

You don't need to apologize. People think that there's a point to the Killers, what with how their music sounds (how they sound like 17 other bands) and the irony and/or cliches that you mention. But, there is no point. That is really them.

That song is most excellent.

I find it amusing that The Killers have received
such a backlash from all the scenesters this year.
Last year, people were going apeshit over them
until they got airplay on MTV2. Suckers.

Just have to say that I am completely hooked on that song as well -- it's especially good when my two year old is singing along to the bridge!

I listened to that album, and song, on repeat for about a week right after I got ahold of it.So much fun!

I find it funny that I was taken out back behind the shed and beaten for my purchase and subsequent liking of that band by you and now you have a change of heart.

Though my like of the band has waned as I've seen them perform and realized they have zero stage prescence and look like a couple of idiots when performing.

Plus some of the lyrics are pretty vile and empty when you break them down. But as far as pop bands go they're definately getting their sound out there.

Call me tomorrow we need to hang sometime.

it is funny, but I did apologize. And note that I only *like* one song, one damn good song.

How are they empty?
