A Personal Responsibility to Blog
...or something like that.
Update:
My sister Abbie had surgery again. I hear it went well and that she's doing fine. Unfornately she wont pick up her phone when I call. I pray she heals for good this time.
Hoppy's now has WiFi. Considering that they don't yet serve bourbon, I don't think it poses much of a problem, though my lungs, due to the ability to consume far more cigarettes, might feel otherwise.
Stackopolis. Oh so addicting.
The post-college life involves numerous adjustments, the shift from the academic to the brutally practical being, if not the biggest, somewhat near the top of list. *learning*, as its called, takes on a decidedly "hard-knocks" pattern: problem presents itself. Decision must be made. Troll past experience for guidance. Get frustrated at the lack of intimate "authorities". Roll dice. Make decision. Attempt to learn from consequences. Rinse. Repeat.
I struggle constantly between thinking life is simply a constant stream of deus ex machina's or that there simply isn't a hook, and that what is is simply our actions. Neither necessarily provide much comfort, at least at a certain level of analysis. Whatever there is, its nice that guidance arrives in one form or another, in place unseen or unsought.
What I'm getting to is that were I to have some kind of "wish-list" or "dream-team" for training in my job, in my "field" or whatever you want to call it, it'd be the people I've been *blessed* to serve with on the Communications Committee of Covenant's current er...upcoming Capital Campaign. I can't take enough notes. I can't believe I don't have to pay for this stuff. I almost want to ask for a refund from Covenant except that well, I'm doing the work for them and there's not a class I took which I regret (microcomputer applications & PE excepted) taking.
That's all for now.

"Troll past experience for guidance."??? Oh, it must have been one of those tiny electric motors; that's why I never heard you "trolling past experience for guidance". You lived most of the rest of your life with loud, obnoxious dual outboard motors... which is another reason I probably never noticed your "trolling". With those things deafening us to your presence, we didn't take time during the solitude to bestow life knowledge upon you... we were busy regaining our hearing.
Troll past experience for guidance. I think I'll see if my wife can needlepoint one of those for me.

Randy,
"Trawl" refers to the motor. A "troll" lives under a bridge and/or makes nasty off-topic comments on people's blogs.

Okay, I get it. The Verify page just won't show a person that he's successful in posting a comment. Beautiful.
Josiah, please feel free to delete as many of my comments from this post as you choose.
