Vacation
I feel like I need to blog while I'm on "vacation". Truthfully, I don't like vacations. I feel like I'm not accomplishing anything. I know that sounds warped, but there you have it.
I'm in Williamsburg, VA. We managed to avoid the whole "colonial disneyland" of colonial Williamsburg, but we're still hitting various American Revolution historic sites. Ever since Master & Commander I've really be into 19th century pre-ironclad ships, so the Naval Museum in Norfolk was rather enjoyable. I was wondering if somebody would be willing to buy me an Iowa class Battleship? The Wisconsin was unreal.
I dig Norfolk, along with the plethora of New Urbanism developments occuring all over the place. I swear, we couldn't drive 2 miles without another Seaside-ish type construction site. The whole area is channeling the spirit of Jane Jacobs...sorta. I need to learn more about Norfolk/Hampton Roads/Virginia Beach. Time for some Wikipedia.
Frustrating is the lack of WiFi at the timeshare resort thing we're at. How can this not be standard?
We also visted with my Aunts/Uncle/Cousins who I haven't seen in awhile. Good times.
We're coming back tomorrow. Just in time for football.

Ah Norfolk... the birth place of my lovely wife... it has its moments, but other than producing such a wonderful lady I care little for it - but to be honest, I've never really vacationed there, so I may not know what I am talking about. I seem to remember Sara likening it to a public restroom.
And yes, the man pad. I have a feeling you were just teasing us and have no real intensions of creating a haven for college football.
If any of you have a moment to spare, say a little prayer for the Irish as they attempt to repel the Trojan offensive.

So, what are the odds of swinging a bit north and visiting central PA?

The thing you're forgetting is that the vacation isn't just for YOU, it's for all the people you work with!!!

So have you read the entire Patrick O'Brien Aubrey/Maturin series? About 7 years ago, I was at my cousin's house and I had finished my book that I had brought and asked if she had anything to read. Her husband piped up and said, "I do, if you're willing to make a commitment". He lent me "Master and Commander" and I was hooked. 19 books (and 1 movie) later, I've fulfilled my commitment. If you haven't read them all and want to borrow them, let me know. Also, A&E's Horatio Hornblower series is fantastic as well. Rule Britannia!
