We Ride

Leave today at 1 with the HCUSC for Deliverance.

Will be awesome.

We got some cool decals made. I also got a new rack. I'll have some pics of the scoot asap.

OH, and the TFP is showing up at meet at 1 to take pictures of us for an article on scooterist culture in Chattanooga.

Right now I'm just waiting for this rain to stop so I can wash my bike.

Can you ride a scooter on the interstate or are you taking back roads?

I happened across your entry on Little Geneva and just had to congratulate you. Substituting the pictures was so clever and funny, I laughed out loud. A perfect antidote for the gloomy mood I've been in since the Hurricane Katrina castrophe.

You are right regarding your guesses about that little group of 'but we're holy' know-nothings. They have a small rural network of male-dominated, home-schooling families along the Coast. The women and girls are forced to wear long dresses and comport themselves in a submissive fashion. (In their ideal society, females would not be allowed to work outside of the home or to vote.) The home church idea is partly a relic of a failed attempt of the League of the South members to take over some small churches in Mississippi, Alabama and South Carolina a few years ago. The intention was to bring the churches' assets, both human and property, into the 'Confederate theocrat' movement. It seems that after that situation ended in rancor and lawsuits, several leaders, including H.S., decided to make start churches of their own.

It is interesting to consider how long these people can dominate even their small group. I know they've had problems with their own children running away.

I wish we had a scooter club down here in NW Florida. I think I need to start one...

I hope you don't go to the Burlesque Josiah. Otherwise, Deliverance sounds like fun!

And yes gid, you can take a moped/scooter on the interstate. As long as it meets the minumum speed requirements, and you are crazy enough. ;)
