Be Warned
Supposedly when the world gets in Jon Bon Jovi's face, he says "have a nice day".
I have no idea why I watch videos in the morning. It just depresses me. Can somebody please explain to me how Bon Jovi keeps making records? Who is buying them? Bon Jovi is like heroin, you know somebody is doing it, but nobody will admit to it.

Because its his life... and its now or never... and he's not going to live forever.

I'll go a step further and say that I don't think we're anywhere close to seeing the end of Bon Jovi...in fact, we might only be half way there (whoa, whoa), livin' on a prayer, take my hand, we'll make it I swear (whoa, whoa), livin' on a prayer.

What I find fascinating about Bon Jovi is the fact that "Have a Nice Day" has *precisely* the same lyrical focus as his last album's "single," "It's My Life": defiance in the face of oppression. He's managed to parlay a mediocre talent, bad hair, and formulaic chord progression into a multi-million dollar career. Who is messing with this man? I can't help but think he must be facing a rough domestic situation, an obliging groupie, perhaps, who became a harpy after he sanctified the union by marriage. And if that's the case, I find I can still extend a little sympathy.

Yep, the little runaway has come home..now he's wanted, (wanted) dead or alive.

Jon Bon Jovi is like bad medicine. Which is pretty interesting considering that bad medicine is what I need. I figure that if I shake it up, just like bad madicine, it'll be hard to find a doctor that can cure my disease.

Plus, I think he still owns that arena football team.

Bon Jovi is terrible. He's a loaded gun. There’s nowhere to run. No one can save me. The damage is done.

I hold to my previously-stated view, which is that Bon Jovi is music for New Jersey residents who think Bruce Springsteen is an intellectual poseur.

i still hold out hope that someday the folks at verizon will acquire the rights to springsteen's song "the rising" humorously changing the words of that most powerful chorus to "come on free up with verizon"
also - i own "slippery when wet" and i still cry every time i hear "never say goodbye" and i refuse to hang my head in shame.

Jon Bon Jovi, if we're being honest, has two things going for him...no, no, make that three:
1) He looks better in a pair of jeans than any other man his age.
2) He's got the greatest rock'n roll name of all time (with all due respect to Warren Zevon).
3) He somehow was able to rhyme "I wanna be / just as close as" with "the Holy / Ghost is" and as far as I'm concerned, that's genius.

oh, don't forget Micah
just as close as
the holy ghost is
I wanna lay you down
in a bed of roses
close as
ghost is
roses
genius
and dude,
"with an ironclad fist / i wake up / and french kiss the morning"
I'm not even sure what that means. Bon Jovie is so like, deep.

This post has made my night!!!! You guys are awsome, I thought I was the only one left in this world that knew lyrics to Bon Jovi. Ahh memories!! It takes me back to the concert I saw at the Dean Dome in Chapel Hill, NC with Skid Row opening!! Those were the days!!!

Ouch - the triple rhyme...good point Josiah, when it comes to songwriting, Jon Bon Jovi has it all figured out. Sometimes all it takes is simply saying the same words over and over (e.g. Janie, Don't You Take Your Love to Town), because I guess after awhile, rhyming just gets so cumbersome.
Erin, please have some respect for JBJ and don't bring Sebastian Bach into this...everyone knows he's a hack.

True, true....so sad the things you think are so wonderful when you are young. When I look at it now I wonder what in the hell I was thinking!!!

James:
You are either brilliantly ironic, or one dumb douchebag.

Please don't tell me there is real passion out there to defend the "good name" of bon jovi. I mean, I can admit that he's cute and has done pretty well for himself, but come on...

James - just in case you're serious, and you really would like to be shown "someone who's playing better guitar than Richie Sambora," then here you go:
This guy is better than Richie

Okay - I'm late to this party, but I just thought I'd mention that Paul Anka (yes, that Paul Anka) has a spectacular swing version of "It's My Life" on his Rock Swings album. I've inflicted it on everyone I know.
