Pray for the Duble Family

I just got off the phone with Derek and the Duble's son Noah drowned today in a lake where they were vacationing. Please pray for Troy, Sarah and the rest of the Duble family.

Thanks, Josiah. Noah was 4, and a great little guy. Quiet and shy, but he loved to tackle and fish, and he wore his blue galoshes everywhere. He and my son, Banks, were going to be roommates someday....

Note from Niel Nielson to Covenant College faculty and staff, re: Noah Duble:

Brothers and sisters:

I am very sad to have to report to you that Noah Duble, 4-year-old son of Troy and Sarah Duble, died earlier this evening as a result of head injuries suffered in a lakeside accident. The Dubles have been vacationing in New Hampshire.

Please keep the Duble family in your prayers. We’ll pass along further details as they are available.

That is just awful. I can't imagine losing a kid like that. May God's peace that surpasses understanding be with them.

Oh man...

I heard something on the radio this morning about a boy drowning in Lake Winnipisaukee which is a couple hours north of where we live. That can't be the Dubles...

As you keep the Dubles in your prayers, please pray for Noah's grandparents, Allen and Sharon, and of course the parents, Troy and Sarah, and for the rest of my home church family at Rock Creek Fellowship who are all bound to be greatly affected by this tragedy. I also wanted to draw your attention to the family of Eric and Deb Duble, and their children Matt and Deedee, who were vacationing with Troy at the time of the accident. Eric is my pastor here at Cono and I have just recently gotten to know him and his family. They were struck with tragedy before they left for vacation when the son of one of Eric's good friends died in Iraq. I am sure this has shook up Eric's family greatly as well. Pray for him as he is a pastor and will need to return to a lot of responsibility very shortly.

Thanks for posting this information so quickly.

As everyone is praying, please pray for the other half of the extended family... Adam & Kate Odell (Kate is Sarah's sister) who are currently on a youth group trip and are grieving and trying to figure out travel arrangements. Wayne & Marsha Howlett (Sarah's folks) who work for Wycliffe -- I'm not sure where in the world they are at this time as they travel almost constantly.

Troy & Sarah are very special to a lot of us at Zion Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. We mourn with them today.

I just found this news article about the accident.

Boy, 4, Dies After Falling Into Lake Winnipesaukee

For those who aren't on the college's alumni email list, the following is a correction to the original request for prayer that went out today. There is suspicion right now of some sort of anyphylactic shock, but no definitive word.

Prayer Request Correction

Noah Duble, 4-year old son of Troy and Sarah Duble, collapsed and died Wednesday evening while the family was vacationing in New Hampshire. The initial reports of an accident, head injury and drowning are incorrect. No other details are known at this time. Please continue to pray for the Duble family.

I'm so sorry. Please let us alums know if there's anything we can do for the family.

Our prayers go out to the family. I married Troy's cousin , David Pierce in 2003. Unfortunately I have not met the Duble family yet, but we did received a Christmas Card with the kid's picture. What a beautiful family. The news articles are incorrect - Noah did not drown. He collapsed then fell into the water. No water was found in his lungs - more tests will need to be done to find out the cause of death. We pray for them.
