George Grant & Little Geneva

It was two years ago, but can somebody tell me wassup with George Grant kicking props to LittleGeneva?

I've never had any problems with George Grant, other than his role as another Reformed mini-pope (as much his *followers* fault as his), but I'd be interested in knowing the breakdown of this "relationship" if anyone knows.

Pisses me off. Cannot find his email address, but if you find it, will you post it here?

Actually, the link you posted is from 2003. From arguing with those guys, it sounded like they hadn't adopted their more explicit racist views until very recently, so that may explain it.

Guys,

I've always liked Grant as a speaker. He's something of a flagbearer for the ACCS, of which our school is a member. Unfortunately, facts are facts, and as of April 2003, LG was writing "It is not easy, and it is unpleasant, to adduce statistics evidencing
the cultural superiority of White over Negro: but it is a fact that obtrudes."

Grant has some questions to answer. Doug Wilson wrote a tract that I'm pretty opposed to in which he misrepresents Southern Slavery (portraying it positively or in his words "As it was.") I love a lot about the ACCS, and think people are somewhat unfair to Wilson (though I don't agree with everything he says), but this is exactly the sort of thing the ACCS needs to get far far away from.

Actually, Wilson co-wrote that monograph with our pastor, Steve Wilkins. Could you elaborate on how they misrepresent Southern Slavery?

Maybe Harry Seabrook can comment on this himself, because I get the feeling (fans of Boston might go as far as to call it 'more than a feeling') that he's a regualr reader of this blog.

Rather than open up a lengthy thread here, which is far off the subject, I invite you to email me. And so as not to misrepresent Revs. Wilkins and Wilson, who have done many fine things in both the evangelistical community and the unclearly defined Christian intellectual community, I will admit that the word "misrepresent" was a hasty, poor word choice, as my feelings are based on my own take on the same material. I will just say that I tend to disagree with some of the sources they use to make many of their contentions, and have some problems with their general thesis. But "misrepresent" is the wrong word and shows some disrespect to the authors in question and I apologize for it.

Yeah, that is a thread from a long time ago. I mean, in 2003, littlegeneva spoke well of Wilkins and hey, even me.

Now we're not on their good list.

BTW, Josiah, when are you gonna start spokaneblogs?

wishin and hopin,
Rick

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Let me introduce myself.

I am Ch. Samuel Anil Kumar, working as Social worker in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh, India. I work with the HIV/AIDS infected people in Guntur. Guntur District has the highest number of HIV / AIDS Positive patients in India. The patients are more worried about their small children and their future. Many of the children are infected with HIV and lots of the children are affected because of HIV.

After knowing that the children are HIV positives the children are :-

1. Discriminated / Stigmatized.
2. Sent out of Schools
3. Sent out from work place (small job)
4. Their friends are not willing to be friends anymore.
5. Infected Children suffer from lack of food & Nutrition

Due to these reasons, children are dying even before the disease kills them. So, we are praying God to help us in supporting and building the lives of the children infected and affected from HIV/AIDS. Though you don’t know who I am, I request you to Kindly pray for me and for these infected and affected children.

I am writing you an incident which happened in Guntur recently.

Case Study:- A man named Kommu. David is a resident of Israelpet, Guntur. He is a rickshaw puller. He lives with his wife and 3 children. He, his wife and and 2 of his children are HIV Positive. After coming to know that he is positive, the neighbours and his relatives didn’t come near them and isolated him and his family. I identified him and with the help of a donor, I could get some rice, dhal and oil for him and his family which costs about 50$ dollars per month. The donor who helps them named Mr. Raju died a month ago due to heart attack. Kommu. David and his wife became very weak and couldn’t go to work and earn. I couldn’t find someone who could help them to get food for their family. Recently within a gap of 8 days, both Mr. Kommu. David and his wife passed away leaving the children as orphans. No one in that area came for their cremation because they are HIV /AIDS Patients. So, I with the help of the municipality and the local pastor, cremated those people. After cremation the main problem for me started.

3 children of Kommu. David has no one to look after. Though I approached orphanages, they were not willing to admit the Positive children. So, they were left alone. So, I was inspired and touched by problems of the children and started a small home for these children and giving free food, education and shelter for these children with the help from the local people. Presently 25 children are in this home called “Bethlehem”.

It’s a heavy burden on me now, as its hard to feed and educate these children. So, I am writing this letter to you for your prayer and for your heartful support. If you are willing to help these children and want to know more details kindly write to me. I hope God will guide you to help these children who are discriminated by the society.

" Every Single Dollar will be of immense use for these children ".

So, Kinldy think positively for these positives.

Expecting a letter from you…

In God’s Service
