Have You Felt The Illinoise? 'Cause I Sure can't
Well, the new Sufjan album was supposed to come out today "Illinois" (which Pitchfork gave a 9.2), but somebody made a boneheaded mistake and put a superman image on the album cover art and DC Comics quickly filed some kind of injunction against Sufjan's label. I mean, how on earth does something like that happen? A real no-brainer in my opinion. Or perhaps I'm just bitter I can't legally snag the album today.
Also, I very much dig Mark's Kodachrome Nights. He's been wooed though and will be making the move over to Chattablogs shortly.
See, this is why the County Commission ticks me off, and this is why pragmatically speaking, in the most brute economic terms, I don't understand why people don't understand that more funding for public education is better for the economy and ultimately better for their pocketbook. Sure, I'm willing to entertain arguments from particular camps on whether or not public education ought even to exist, but they're here, they're not going away, and if you do care about jobs and everything else that spirals off of a well-employed populace you'd better be willing to pony up and fund your local schools or the jobs are going to go to, *gulp*, Canada.
For those of you who care, and I think its pretty much just my Mom, there wasn't a picture of me in the Times Free Press this weekend, and the articles in which I were quoted actually came out in the Monday edition. I was quoted on the front page, which is kind of cool. I'll take the press. Got a few more blog signups off of it too. Anyways, here's links to the first and second articles.

Way to go, Josiah! You get more press than most who pay publicists.

I ordered a copy from Asthmatic Kitty a week ago and got it in the mail yesterday. I guess I squeaked in before the cease & desist order. It's a great album.
