Midnight In A Perfect World
Man, I'm revisiting DJ Shadow's "Endtroducing" in light of its re-release, and its just as compelling now as it was 10 years ago (or, well, 8 years ago when I listened to it for the first time). The stuff is so cerebral. Pitchfork has a great take on it here.
Eric Towers delivered with a rather bizarre package today, containing 7 packs of my fav smokes (the 1916 green pack Lucky Strikes only available overseas) and well, this.
I'm bustin' my hump today to get the PCA General Assembly 2005 blog off the ground. It needs to be up before opening ceremonies tomorrow night, but its all hanging on the By Faith folks, who I'm "hoping" know how to do DNS. Right now the official GA bloggers are myself, Maphet, Rebekah Foreman, Derek, and zee JollyBlogger.
Our house is coming along nicely. Ron and I swap saturday's working various projects. Basically its an excuse to drink more while working. We did a few projects at his house, then I had to rip out some shelving systems in our laudry room to make room for the stackable washer and dryer units (long story, we did not want stackables). I'm looking for a miter saw to cut quarter-round which I need to put on all the baseboards. Not sure when I'm going to get to that. Tools are expensive, geez.
Finally, I making the move from Thunderbird to Mail. Basically the new Mail that ships with Tiger stores each individual e-mail as a file so spotlight can index every last e-mail. Its also strangely wicked fast. So pretty much my 5 years worth of e-mail messages were the last bit of "not spotlight searchable" info on my computer. That's changing, its amazing. I can find anything.
I don't even want to talk about the NBA finals. Breaking my heart.

I'm interested in doing some sort of Pulse cultural story on the descent of hard-drinkin', hard-dancin' hard-livin' ruling elders into a town consumed by Riverbend. What nights would be best for me to show up and mingle with the preachers and bloggers?

Also, anybody wanna go to the Strut tonight? I'll be taking pictures of the police sweep, trying not to get billyclubbed.

Well, your comments here are random, so here's a random comment: ChattaBlogs has the coolest layout of all the Terrablogs. Yes! Sweet.

If you need more GA bloggers, let me know. I'll be the newbie commisioner from New City on site and voting. (I'm amazed that they let me vote....).
Do you know what computer access will look like at the convention center?

Rob, that might work. We just need a headshot of you. Covention Center has great wifi access, so we'll all be pretty much good to go.
And BobW, thanks for the lead on the miter saw.

The pistons are a bunch of low-life thugs who are lucky the pacers weren't at full strength this year and that Reggie's retiring. But I guess the meatheads at the palace are to blame, plus the fact that Ben Wallace is a punk. Go Spurs!

Josiah,
Did you happen to get a chance to read my question for you in the comments section of "Get behind me Satan"?
Just curious.

You must've been working on something Sunday morning too... cause you weren't at church. Bailey and I made a visit and assumed we'd bump into you. We did meet plenty of other nice folks, though.

I thought you were getting tired of the smokes, man!
