Allergies
I've been staggering around in an allergies+claritin+benedryl+psuedophedrine daze for the last two days. I can hardly breath, my throat is killing me, and the air feels stuffy everywhere.
I think it has something to do with the pollen count in Chattanooga approaching something like apocalyptic levels. Tennessee Temple has convened a special Bible Prophecy Seminar to discuss whether or not there's some relation between the new Pope and the low-air quality, and whether or not this is, in fact, an indication that the rapture is at hand.
Of course, Tennessee Temple also convenes a special Bible Prophecy Seminar each year during the Bessie Smith Strut, "strutting" performed by white people, particularly from the areas to the northeast of Highland Park, perhaps being the invasion from Asia spoke of in Daniel 11:14 & Revelation 10:7. So they're perhaps not the best indicator of what we call so affectionately, reality or the current state of affairs.
Unfortunately I'm going to have to suffer through this for at least another day or two until we get a good dumping of rain to clean things out. I could go for a day of rain, just to have the opportunity to step outside and take a deep breath of fresh, clean air. Gotta do it before Ron Littlefield brings back all those "manufacturing" jobs and eases up on pollution restrictions, the combination of a population with notoriously bad hygiene & factories spewing forth smog will make "fresh air" quite the commodity.

Dude, use your health benefits and go see an allegrist. If nothing else, they'll give you meds you only have to take once a day, don't make you drowsy, and work better than any over-the-counter cocktail you could come up with and still stay conscious. You can even get shots - a series of them over a period of a few years - that can significantly reduce or even eliminate your allergies permenantly. You've got insurance. Use it.

We need a rain like we saw in May of '03 to get this junk out of the air....

Funny thing about pollen. I'm from TN and lived there my whole life until recently. Now I'm in the northwest and my head is exploding daily. Never had a problem in the Spring until now. I think I'm too used to the pollen and now I'm paying for it, like pollen is some sort of sick Glen Close like lover who is having her way with me for trying to leave her. Go figure.
