So Ann Lost
It didn't out the way I'd hoped. I thought, and still think, that Ann was the better candidate and the better person. She was a civic servant, not a politician, and I respect her for running a clean, honest, and positive campaign. I felt glad that that I was able to help, even if it was just a couple of little things. It was quite the experience being part of something bigger than yourself with an incredibly diverse group of passionate & intelligent people. Even if she only got 46%, you can know that every person who voted for Ann voted for her not out of fear or petty political bs, but because they respected her and believed in a growing and maturing Chattanooga.
Maybe she was 8 years too early for Chattanooga, I dunno. I suppose its my mistake and naivete to think that the strip of Chattanooga from North Chattanooga through the downtown/Southside into St. Elmo somehow represents Chattanooga as a whole.
So, I'm thankful to Ann for the friendship and for the experience. She shouldn't have any regrets; she did it all with moxy and with class. I'm just sorry it didn't turn out different in the end.

Thanks for letting me be included in that Chattanooga thing. I know Brainerd may be out of the way but it's nice to know we can still be included.

yeah...heard she was focused on downtown and stelmo. that would definitely kill a big part of the vote. it's weird, though, because i thought she had it wrapped up. guess it's the silent majority once again.

The tensions between Red Bankistan and Hixsonia will soon escalate, when the disputed territory of Dallas Basia announces it has long held nuclear capabilities.

I navigated to this blog from a post you made in 2004 about Derrida- working on a research paper right now.... anyway, I just thought this was a very... perplexing site. Without making a statement one way or another, I found it very intriguing that you're fond of both Anne Coulter and RATM. Reminds me of Focus on the Family endorsing eMOTIVE- the new perfect circle album- despite the fact that, well, yeah...
My point is that you have displaced what I had unknowingly adopted as a foundational part of my opinions- a binary opposition that certainly did not allow supporters of Coulter to listen to RATM. And that other people posting here do as well...- you have all given me a zen-happiness that I would have never thought possible. Thanks :).

Josiah and Friends,
I'm on my second cup of decaf coffee, my cat sitting next to the laptop, and lovely April sunshine coming in the windows.
The recycle folks spent a long time out front of our house this morning, taking away years of files on downtown revitalization, the evils of sprawl, etc. after a marathon throwing away session last night.
Out with the old.....
One of the best things for me about the CoulterforMayor Campaign was the chance to make new friends. Another was learning about people like the folks at Coptix who are bringing new ideas and commitment to our city.
Keep it up!
I appreciate your support and hope to see you soon!

I heard Ann Coulter started a new business blowing up balloons for kids birthday parties. Stocks in her new venture have skyrocketed, everyone knows she'll never run outta hot air.
