Somehow, Despite Overwhelming Odds, a Calvinist Wins The Pulitzer
Marilynne Robinson, for "Gilead", which is sitting on my desk right now. Mesh got it for me for Christmas, and despite being an incredibly captivating, I've only gotten 10 pages into it. I promise you all I'll finish it in the next week.
It's the story of a Reformed minister upon hearing news of his terminal illness proceeds to write a series of letters to his 6 year old son on faith, Jesus, and righteousness.
Somebody tell me how a Calvinist a. decided to write a novel b. it didn't have something to do with William Wallace and c. it was so dang good it won the Pultizer. The times, they're hopefully a-changin'.

I bet when she was about to write the book she was all like "Might as well go ahead and get this over with."

Kevin, I think a Calvanist is someone from California who is a van enthusiast, I am still getting clarification from Webster's though...
