TN State Rep Gets Blog & My Letter to the TFP [UPDATE!]

If you haven't checked it out yet, you should. TN State Representative Stacey Campfield has a blog, and boy is he catching flack for it (thanks to the CivicForum for lowdown). Read it though, it's fascinating. There's even a posting of a letter from local state rep Chris Clem making fun of democracts.

As I'm sure you've all noticed in the comments section to the left certain folks have gotten into a tizzy over my recent letter to the editor in the TFP supporting Ann Coulter for Mayor. I suppose I should apologize to Mr. Greggory Pack for forcing him to read both my letter to the editor and my blog: two things I shouldn't force him to read until I've got a few more years under my belt.

Well, keep reading to checkout my letter.

Coulter best choice for Chattanooga

I think our mayor should personify the same level of confidence, maturity, idealism and energy that our community is now exemplifying. In these terms one candidate mirrors the city’s innovation, dignity and pride all wrapped around a positive and focused attitude.

One candidate seems contentious, divisive, and quite frankly, a political dinosaur. I’m certain Ron Littlefield is a good man. But if I had to draw conclusions about him and what he might be like as mayor based on his campaign, I am left with a very bad impression.

I am also left to believe that not only does this man live in the past, he has very little left in common with today’s Chattanooga. Today’s Chattanooga is proactive, optimistic, and forward thinking. Somebody bogged down in old-school politics is not what we need now in our mayor.

Littlefield will never catch up with how far Chattanooga has come since his last failed campaign for mayor. And, while he would like us to believe he should be credited for, well, everything good in Chattanooga, we know better. For all his experience he still comes across as someone with a lot to prove.

Ann Coulter is my choice for mayor.
