In Other Poker News
Last night we played a little game over at the home of the guy from Alchemy Spice. It was me, Andy Ross, Sweet, Chris, Isaac, Farron, and April. Yes, April decided to come, ending her oh, 8 month poker haitus...
...only to complete destroy everyone at the table. Now I fancy myself an above average poker player. I'll take some beats, but I like to think never because it was the wrong thing to do, by the book etc. But my wife positively outplayed the table. It was kindof surreal. She played a tight-aggressive game, pounding those pre-flops and playing the chip bully. She really hit a rhythm. Here's the hand I went out on:
I'm in the BB w/ J-8 offsuit. We're playing three handed, so the dealer folds to April in the SB. April calls the BB. I'm about a 5-1 underdog in chips to her at this point, so I check. Flop comes out Q-J-7 rainbow. April checks to me. Knowing the only way to bet enough to get her off this hand is to shove all in, so I do. She calls and turns over A-Q, having trapped me, knowing I would shove all in to move her off the pot.
Ridiculous. She then played a stunning game of headsup, pretty much ignoring the game and focusing on the betting, just like you're supposed to do. She pulled a similar trap move like she did on me to win it all.

Hey you know whats funny, we joked at lunch about how you said you were going to ditch hanging out with us for cooler people on sunday night... implying you were going to hang out with us, but then you actually did ditch us... wow.
